Corporate Development Roles and Responsibilities:
SAIC is seeking a Senior Vice President (SVP), Corporate Development in our Reston, VA headquarters. This position is a direct report to the Chief Executive Officer.
The SVP will work closely with the senior management team to support the development and implementation of SAIC?s strategic plan with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to complement organic growth strategies. This role is responsible for the strategic M&A vision of the company, working with business leaders to analyze acquisition opportunities for strategic corporate fit and value creation.
The SVP will lead all aspects of the acquisition process including managing the strategic M&A filters, identifying prospective target opportunities, performing strategic and quantitative analysis, tracking market M&A activity, managing business and financial due diligence, defining the deal structure and negotiating deal terms, overseeing integration activities, working closely with the business sponsor and all corporate functions, to successfully execute M&A transactions. The SVP will proactively research target markets to track competitor developments and their impact on SAIC?s market share. The SVP is the primary liaison to build relationships with the investment banking community and other related external parties. The SVP will work closely with the executive leadership team to develop acquisition value proposition materials and lead presentations to management and the Board of Directors for M&A capital deployment decisions.
Candidate must have the ability to work in a multi-tasking environment with quick deadlines and have sound presentation and decision making skills. Attention to detail and ability to assimilate information in a fast paced environment is essential. Proven team building skills are essential to drive effective decisions making with the appropriate stakeholders.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor?s degree with 15 years of experience as a lead in a corporate development role
- Must have prior M&A deal experience in the federal contracting market in a similar position with proven record of success
- Demonstrated experience in building external relationships and leading acquisition from identification to closure
- Must have demonstrated executive level experience collaborating with senior leaders in particular the CEO and board of directors
- Ability to obtain top level government security clearance.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Excellent written and communication skills

- A Masters of Business Administration
- Established relationships with the investment banking industry as well as other peers in corporate development
