Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) is currently seeking, on-site En Route Air Traffic Control (ATC)
Instructors. This position is in support of the FAA Controller Training Contract (CTC) program. Individuals selected will function in a position titled Instructor III at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City, OK.
This hands-on position will require the successful candidate to effectively and consistently deliver high quality training
and instruction to students from a wide variety of backgrounds and experience levels, including: general public, prior
Military and graduates of the FAA?s CTI program. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellent teaching and communication skills, as well as classroom management techniques, a mission-focused drive for continuous improvement, and strong technical skills with current ATC automation, simulation systems and procedures. In addition, this position may provide opportunities for mentoring other instructors, as well as input to curriculum design and development.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of CPC ATCS experience in a civilian ARTCC or other equivalent civilian facility. This experience must have been at a facility equal to or exceeding either an FAA level II En Route ATC facility or an FAA ATC-10 facility, and some portion of this experience must have occurred within the 5 years preceding the proposed appointment under this contract.
Candidates must have FAA Air Traffic Control OJTI training and experience
Candidates must be knowledgeable about current equipment and procedures used in Air Traffic Control.
Candidates must be able to interface effectively with FAA personnel at all levels to insure the training delivered is consistent with FAA procedures, responsive to FAA needs, and is comprehensive and of consistently high quality.
Candidates must be able to achieve full certification in FAA Course 50148001 Lab Instruction, in both Radar and Non-Radar environments. This certification will be achieved at the start of work, and must be successfully completed within 30 days of starting work.
- Recent experience is defined as that which has occurred within the 5 years prior to application for this position.
Qualifications - External
Candidates must have knowledge or experience in the following:
- En Route: ARTCC or other equivalent civilian facility (this experience must have been at a facility equal to or exceeding either an FAA Level II En Route ATC facility or an FAA ATC-10 facility).
Certified Professional Controller (CPC) certification required.
