This role will Engage the team by proactively driving continuous improvement and development of technical competencies, talent, and performance. Grow the business embracing the tenets of Performance Management Teams to identify and lead incorporation of continuous improvement actions into manufacturing processes and foster employee engagement. Identify gaps in skill sets. Collaborate with Labor Relations and Human Resources to enhance employee engagement. This role will require tasks that includes the vision, selection, guidance, training, performance assessment, work assignments, and recognition/disciplinary actions for a group of represented and salaried employees on the F-35 production build teams; Component Final Finishes, or Satellite Shop areas. The associate manager will assign personnel to perform manufacturing operations as required to ensure the advancement of production line assembly in Final. The associate manager will ensure that personnel are selected and trained to perform in the selected manufacturing tasks successfully. In addition, the associate manager will be responsible for the proper daily execution standard administrative tasks for his/her team and the adjacent teams on his/her in production. The associate manager will work collaboratively with his/her peers within their build area to ensure best practices are leveraged for compliance requirements and that the unique needs of the his/her build areas are met.
Performs on existing contracts and positions the company for new contract Wins by leading manufacturing activities and represented workforce to accomplish cost, schedule, quality, and safety objectives for the Component Final Finishes area. Assign daily tasks to finishers to execute daily dispatch list. Identifies and implements changes to improve quality, schedule, cost, and safety. Reinforces a culture that values and embraces Foreign Object Damage prevention. Ensures certification of employees who perform certification required tasks. Provides a safe work environment and takes timely corrective action to correct unsafe conditions. Assures employees and leadership comply with defined Functional processes and defined processes that are program specific.
- Experience with manufacturing/productions methodologies
- Experience using tools, machines, and systems typically used in a production/manufacturing environment
- Experience with business metrics to drive performance (cost, schedule, quality, and safety)
- Experience leading groups of individuals
Experience Aircraft Finishes or low observable coatings experience
Working knowledge of Manufacturing Systems including, PDM, MRP, SFM, and EWI.
Assembly, production, or MMRO (maintenance, Modification, repair, and overhaul) experience
Working Knowledge of Crew Plans
Forecasting and utilization of manpower planning
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated successful leadership experience
