SEH is seeking a Senior Architect / Project Manager to help drive our growth and success as a leader in our Tennessee market. This role offers the unique opportunity to help shape strategy and lead exciting pursuits and projects in our growing Architecture Practice!

This position is open to individuals located in our target growth locations, which include Nashville, Chattanooga, Knoxville or surrounding areas.

This Opportunity:

  • Drive and direct business activities to build long-term client relationships with an emphasis on continuing SEH's impressive success in delivering smart, sustainable and productive municipal architecture projects

  • Live on the front lines in developing meaningful connections and strong partnerships, and are in a unique position for bringing strategies to our clients in addressing their design needs

  • Collaborate with regional teams to lead projects and technical staff in successfully delivering architectural design projects

  • Lead the development of a new physical office in Nashville, Chattanooga, Knoxville or surrounding area

  • Market SEH’s architectural fire station and essential facilities design services, preparing and conducting proposal presentations, and managing communication between clients, consultants and contractors

  • Lead client meetings and develop relationships with targeted municipal clients and selective private clients to secure new projects in alignment with business growth goals, with prioritized attention to municipal fire station development

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff

  • Represent SEH at conferences and professional organizations to promote municipal market expertise and to grow architectural market presence within municipal client and industry networks

Essential Qualifications:

  • Professional Bachelor's Degree in Architecture

  • Licensed architect in the state of Tennessee

  • Proven expertise managing municipal architectural projects and leading project teams

  • Strong business management skills with previous leadership roles and proven success in securing new work, building business networks, and expanding business markets

  • Recognized and well-connected with representatives from current and prospective clientele; experienced in working with clients, communities and businesses

  • Understanding of market economics, industry trends, client types, and what it takes to successfully deliver architectural services and solutions within the geographic market.

  • Strong networking skills

  • Ability to travel by car as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections/visits, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years previous experience in municipal project design and execution

  • Experience managing multiple, simultaneous projects through prioritization and workload scheduling

  • Demonstrated understanding of project financials metrics and ability to track and actively manage a projects financial performance

  • Business development aptitude or previous experience within a business development role with proven success in securing new business opportunities

  • Proven project management experience with ability to guide project teams and clients through the architectural design process

  • NCARB Certification with ability to obtain licensure in additional states
