Job Title: Chief Architect – Access Management & Zero Trust

Location: Chantilly, VA (Minimum 4 days/week on-site; up to 10% at Reston/Springfield, VA)

Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

At Leidos, bold missions call for brilliant minds—and we deliver both. In our National Security Sector, we’re not just solving technical challenges; we’re shaping the architecture of tomorrow’s secure enterprise systems. If you're a strategist, innovator, and builder all in one, we want you leading the way as the Chief Architect.

About the Program: GEOAxIS is the gatekeeper of NGA GEOINT content, enabling secure, on-demand access across mission-critical environments. Through the GxNext contract (2021–2031), Leidos is pushing the boundaries of Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM)—developing scalable solutions across every security domain, built to perform in the toughest conditions.

Position Summary: Leidos is seeking a visionary Chief Architect to drive enterprise-wide architecture initiatives focused on secure access and identity solutions. This role has been expanded to include professionals with access management experience across ICAM, PKI, PKC, and Zero Trust domains. In this role you’ll lead from the front—defining architecture, shaping policy, driving technical strategy, and championing interoperability across a secure digital landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise security architecture supporting mission-critical IC operations.

  • Define and evolve access management strategies across identity, credentialing, PKI/PKC solutions, and Zero Trust frameworks.

  • Collaborate with government leads and mission partners to gather requirements, set priorities, and ensure alignment with program goals.

  • Integrate technical requirements with system architecture to optimize compatibility and performance.

  • Develop mission transition plans, engineering documentation, and system CONOPS.

  • Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies and best practices in secure access solutions.

  • Facilitate enterprise-wide collaboration to solve technical challenges and harmonize architecture development.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 12+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience in Systems Architecture.

  • Proven expertise in access management architecture and technologies, with strong working knowledge of ICAM, PKI/PKC, or secure identity systems.

  • Experience supporting degraded, denied, intermittent, and low-bandwidth environments (DDIL).

  • Demonstrated leadership in enterprise architecture design and implementation.

  • Experience with RESTful or SOAP web services, Agile methodologies, and continuous integration.

  • Familiarity with UI development or Human Computer Interaction (HCI) tools like JavaScript, Ozone Widget Framework, SharePoint 2016 or higher.

  • Clearance Requirements: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of Zero Trust principles and their application to mission IT architecture.

  • Mastery in software and enterprise systems design across secure domains.

  • Outstanding leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • US Citizenship (required for consideration).

Come break things (in a good way). Then build them smarter.

We're the tech company everyone calls when things get weird. We don’t wear capes (they’re a safety hazard), but we do solve high-stakes problems with code, caffeine, and a healthy disregard for “how it’s always been done.”
