About the Position:
The Solution Architect contributes to the development and maintenance of the solution design within a ?cloud first? context for the overall US Gas Business Enablement Program. The Solution Architect also contributes for the effective delivery and continuous improvement of solutions and to establish strategic services enabling step changes within National Grids solution delivery practice.

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Identification, Ownership and Production of deliverable global solutions for assigned projects that meet the Business requirements
Ensure that solutions provided conform to the National Grid Enterprise Architecture
Governance of the solution Architecture through its implementation
Responsible for providing technical leadership for innovative technical solutions
Support identification of assets or services that can be re-used by multiple teams to drive consistency, cost reduction, and increases speed to market within assigned Architecture or functional domains.
Lead the definition of Program level Solution Architecture within a ?cloud first? context, setting best practices within the Program. This responsibility covers all architectural domains, including security, application, integration, information, and infrastructure architectures.
Lead technology selection and adoption within the Program.
Responsible for providing thought leadership to lead solution delivery teams.
Responsible for producing solution Architecture diagrams and documentation based on the Architecture standards and usage guidelines.
Responsible for articulating and socializing architectural and technical concepts to technical and Business audiences.
Partners with National Grid Enterprise Architecture on alignment of standards and defining emerging standards.
Acts as a key member of the Program?s architectural governance process.
Demonstrates the Valued Business Partner capabilities and behaviors in all interactions with IS Colleagues, vendors and Business stakeholders.
Reports to the Manager of Cloud Integration
Qualifications
Knowledge & Experience Required:
Knowledge, Experience & Technical Know How:
1+ years experience working as a Solution Architect, Integration Architect or Technical Lead
Software Developers that want to get into Solutions Architect
Experience with agile development/delivery methodologies.
Qualifications Required:
BS and educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
5 plus years in application development, application Architecture, and/or integration Architecture.
Ability to work as part of a team
