New roman; size: undefined;">The US has a requirement to organize, man, equip, and train Special Infantry units for the Afghan National Defense Security Forces (ANDSF). This Special Infantry organization is an elite, highly mobile, light Infantry unit that specializes in assaults on conventional targets throughout Afghanistan.

New roman; size: undefined;">The Mechanic Trainer participates in meetings and conferences as directed by the appointed the SITP Team Leader, Deputy Program Manager, and/or Technical Oversight Representative (TOR)/ Quality Assurance Representative (QAR).

  • New roman; size: undefined;">The Mechanic Trainer shall train their KKA counterparts to possess the skills to independently conduct the following tasks:
    • New roman; size: undefined;">The Master Driver and Maintenance Recovery Instructor will conduct classroom, hands-on driver?s and recovery operations training for the KKA.
    • New roman; size: undefined;">Will assist in the development all of the Program of Instruction (POIs), Practical Exercises, and testing materials in order to train vehicle driving and basic maintenance.
    • New roman; size: undefined;">Help identify KKA personnel for internal unit trainers, train identified unit personnel for KKA master driver, conduct KKA recovery training, identify establish and develop KKA vehicle recovery trainers within the KKA.
    • New roman; size: undefined;">Stay abreast of all training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and New materials, methods, and techniques.
    • New roman; size: undefined;">Create and train the KKA trainer on all training schedules, class rosters, long term training calendars, and quarterly training assessment reports to determine the sustainability of the KKA unit?s overall driver?s training and recovery operations program.
    • New roman; size: undefined;">Will report directly to the SITP Team Leader on all training conducted.
    • New roman; size: undefined;">Will directly work with International 7 Ton Series Vehicles (MTV) i.e. MR-30 Recovery Vehicle, Fuel/ Water/ Cargo/ Troop Vehicles, M915/916 Tractors, M873 Series Trailer, Up Armored HMMWV (UAH), 10K Atlas Forklift, Ford Ranger (LTV), the Armored Security Vehicle (ASV/ MSFV), and other assigned vehicles IAW Ktah Khas Tashkils.
    • New roman; size: undefined;">Responsible for providing instruction on Operator Level Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) and 10 and 20 level Maintenance on the unit?s specified vehicles relating to training and recovery operations.
    • New roman; size: undefined;">Provide assistance to the KKA Commanders in the selection and training of the Master Driver and Recovery Specialists Candidates.
    • New roman; size: undefined;">Responsible for regularly interacting with US and NATO Coalition military personnel.

New roman; size: undefined;">Required Qualifications:
  • New roman; size: undefined;">4 to 10 years of experience in US Military mechanic operations at the Operational and Support levels of maintenance, as well as in motor pool operations.
  • New roman; size: undefined;">Served as an E7 or higher.
  • New roman; size: undefined;">Possess certifications in HMMWV maintenance and generator maintenance.
  • New roman; size: undefined;">Experience in training outline development, POIs, Lesson Plans, and Training Support Packages.
  • New roman; size: undefined;">Familiar with FM 4-30.31 Recovery and Battle Damage Assessment and Repair Field Manual.
  • New roman; size: undefined;">Has a clean driving record.
  • New roman; size: undefined;">Must be DoD Instructor Training Course (ITC) Certified or possess equivalent certification and must have maintenance and repair experience, to include, mechanical systems diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Have the ability to instruct unit level military recovery vehicle convoy procedures.

As a business necessity, must successfully complete/maintain arming requirements including but not limited to: Psychological evaluation (initial evaluation & annual reevaluations); Completion of Civilian Arming Authorization Mgmt System (CAAMS) requirements/documentation & Arming Authorization Letter from US Forces AFG; Afghan weapons permit from the Afghan Ministry of the Interior
