The EO/IR Systems Department is seeking a Systems Engineer to perform integration, verification and validation tasks that require fundamental knowledge in sensor system applications for airborne or space environments. Duties include testing activities, generating test requirements, deriving test methodology from the requirement specifications and performing system hardware sell-offs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of requirements development and verification, with the ability to assemble a test plan starting from the requirements verification matrix. A flexible work schedule is required during testing phases of a program.The individual must be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to communicate with various engineering and support disciplines.
Minimum of 4 years of system engineering, system integration, testing or related experience with Electro-Optic & Infrared (EOIR) Systems & remote sensing
Experience performing environmental testing that includes functional, vibration, electromagnetic interference (EMI), acoustic and thermal testing phases
Ability to lead test team execution during the various test phases
Ability to operate special test equipment (STE)
Ability to execute and understand software for STE and system operation
Ability to generate test procedures and test plans from a requirements specification. Test plan development includes derivation of requirements into test methodology for verification sell-off.
Provide peer review of test procedures, and test plans.
Ability to generate other verification requirements documentation (i.e. Verification Cross Reference Matrix, Test Requirements Documents)
Experience generating and performing ?on the floor? quick look data analysis to ensure validity of test data collected
Ability to generate high quality test reports.
Demonstrate knowledge of problem solving process by identifying and developing solutions to anomalies discovered during integration, test and system analysis.
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security clearance
Domain expertise in physics, optics, electronics, system engineering, or remote sensing
Knowledge and experience using MATLAB
Project management experience ? strong coordination and organization skills
Ability to utilize Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) for requirement communication, collaboration and verification
Knowledge of the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) and the Management System (MS)
Familiar with patent submission process
Experience with external conference publications
Knowledge of MIL-STD-1540, and MIL-STD-461
History with environmental testing including high vacuum Systems, simulated altitude, cryogenic operating Systems
Understanding of orbitology
Knowledge of C/C++, visual basic, or Visual C++ software language
Knowledge of firmware
Proficiency with Labview, and Test Equipment development and architecture
Proficient with Microsoft Project
Ability to obtain a SSBI Clearance
Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
