The National Space Systems Department is currently in need for a Systems Engineer II to support the Space Systems Mission Areas in the development and build of space electro-optical payloads and sensors. Specifically, the department is seeking current and future engineering leaders committed and passionate about the architecting and program execution of Systems in the project life cycle that support Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Mission Areas. As an example, the Systems Engineer will be part of a team building electro-optical Systems including imagers, passive/active EO tracking, LIDAR, hyperspectral and/or multi-spectral Systems. The Systems Engineer will be supporting and helping develop initial Systems architecture, developing requirements for payload/sensor, and leading the design and build efforts. The role involves being able assess design characteristics and analyze impacts to performance parameters such as SWaP, MTF, SNR, WFE, and spectral response. The role also involves understanding verification and test activities to assist in the creation of a proper IV&V plan meeting the requirements of the program.
The National Space Systems Department is an organization of approximately 130 Systems engineering leaders, located in El Segundo and San Diego, CA, Arlington, VA and Port Jefferson, NY. The department?s charter is provide system engineering, architecture, performance modeling/simulation and project leadership primarily for electro-optical products and technology. Department staff supports the Space Systems and the Advanced Concepts and Technology mission areas.
The ideal candidate will be a Systems Engineer with experience in the development and delivery Systems and technologies for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Mission Areas.
