We are Raytheon Missile Systems and we are seeking an Engineering professional with experience designing Control actuation Systems for high performance missiles.The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with electro-mechanical and pneumatic/hydraulic actuation Systems.
The Control Actuation Systems Engineer will design and analyze Control actuation Systems that employ permanent magnet brush and brushless DC motor technology.This role also requires devising, implementing, and executing complex Engineering test methodologies for high power density actuation Systems to aid in failure investigation and subsystem performance characterization.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
Note:This position can be Principal Systems Engineer or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer based upon the applicant?s qualifications as they relate to the skills, leadership, experience and responsibility requirements of the position.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
·B.S. Majors: Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics ? General, Aero & Astro Eng
·Eight (8) years of experience in the design and analysis of Control actuation Systems.
·Experience with Control system integration and testing including all-digital simulation and modeling, hardware/software integration, and system characterization.
·Experience working with hardware communication interfaces such as RS-422, RS-485, and Controller Area Network (CAN) bus protocol.
·Proficiency in trade studies and requirements flowdown and verification.
·Experience deducing subsystem performance from lab and post-flight data analysis.
·Excellent ability to trouble shoot and fault isolate electromechanical actuation Systems.
·Experience devising, implementing, and executing complex Engineering test methodologies for high power density actuation Systems to aid in failure investigation and subsystem performance characterization
·Five (5) years of experience preparing and delivering technical briefs and other Engineering materials to peers, Program leadership and customers demonstrating your excellent written and oral communication skills.
·Familiarity with Matlab/Simulink, FORTRAN and/or C/C++, dSPACE.
Desired Education, Skills and Experience:
·Advanced degrees in the following: Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics ? General, Aero & Astro Eng
·Current TS/SCI Clearance
·15 years experience in Control actuation design and analysis.
·Experience in designing and analyzing Control actuation Systems that employ permanent magnet brush and brushless DC motor technology.
·Experience in designing and analyzing pneumatic and hydraulic Control actuation Systems is a plus.
·Proficient working in Matlab/Simulink.
·Proficient working with dSPACE.
·Experience with air-to-air weapon Systems.
·Experience with air-to-ground weapon Systems.
·Experience with ship defense weapon Systems.
·Patents and publications in applicable technical areas.
·The demonstration of successful team leadership activities.
·An applicable advanced technical degree.
Must currently have or be able to obtain a DoD issued Secret Security Clearance.At a minimum, an Interim Secret clearance will be required in order to start work.
