SAIC is seeking a Information Systems Security Engineer to join our Chantilly, VA team.

The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) supports the Chantilly, VA customer. The ISSE is responsible for conducting Information systems Security engineering activities throughout the acquisition lifecycle of the space systems. The ISSE shall provide Security support for overall system knowledge and expertise of overhead systems regarding the Security posture in the areas of technical, network, physical, certification and accreditation, and operational Security. The ISSE shall be knowledgeable of best practices when implementing Security controls including software engineering methodologies, Security, engineering principles, and secure coding techniques and coordinates activities with assessment and authorization stakeholders.

The ISSO shall provide Security support for overall system knowledge and expertise of overhead systems regarding the Security posture in the areas of technical, network, physical, certification and accreditation, and operational Security. Specific tasks shall include:

- Provide Security recommendation, technical assistance and final products to Security in the area of ICD 503, and multi-level Security, NRO Assessment and Authorization

- Review of internal and external segment Request for Change (RFCs) for technical Security impacts

- Interface to industry partners for evaluating technical Security safeguards, and measure to support ground element equipment/system design, implementation, and integration

- Develop and review Security relevant documentation to support new capability and enhancements deliveries to the technical and operational baseline

- Participate in discussions at the system engineering level to enhance the Security of the NRO networks

- Provide support to system assessment and authorization activities and efforts related to ICD 503 process

- Provide technical support in investigating and minimizing real or potential damage resulting from Security incidents

- Research, develop, integrate, and distribute IS Security tools and associated documentation

- Provide on-site assistance for integrating IS Security tools into contractor and government Information systems

- Develop Security procedures for systems and software within area of expertise to ensure consistent Security policy implementation

- Provide status to Directorate ISSM regarding assessment and accreditation of all sponsored systems

- Respond to internal actions/taskings related to IT/IA for impacts to systems, processes, and architecture

- Provide assistance to Signals Intelligence Compliance officer through management and identification of all systems and efforts using SIGINT for RDT&E purposes.

- Outline data distribution concerns as well as relevant Assessment and Authorization actions of systems associated with satellites

- Perform additional duties as may be assigned by the office and approved by the CO/COTR

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:

- Bachelor?s Degree and Master's Degree.

- 5 - 10 years of work experience

- CISSP and/or CISSP-ISSEP Certificates

- TS/SCI w/polygraph
