The EED-2 program is seeking a senior software engineer with proven experience working in a fast-paced Agile development environment performing UI UX design and implementation on large applications. As a member of our UI UX team, the candidate will be responsible for design and development activities for Web-based systems that are at the core of NASA?s earth science mission.

Design and assist in the development of several Web-based systems, including requirements gathering and estimation.
Comply with various project standards and requirements of the company as well as the customer and legal requirements of (SEC-508).
Ensure industry best practices and assets are leveraged when necessary.
8 years of related software engineering experience.
Minimum of 5-7 years? experience in core design concepts (composition & layout, color theory, typography, etc).
Minimum of 4 years of experience with wireframing and light technical documentation.
An understanding of applications, user interfaces, interactions and all things application and Web-related.
Ability to take a design from concept to wireframe to pixel perfect.
Understanding of the iterative design process.
Full understanding of HTML5/CSS/jQuery (ability to hand-code semantic markup and style it)
Energetic, self-motivated, team player
Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite (JIRA for bug tracking, Confluence for collaboration, and preferably Bamboo for continuous integration and delivery).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good experience in preparing IT technical documents.
Familiarity with the git source code management system.
Experience with the Optimal Workshop suite of tools.
Bachelor?s degree in a STEM discipline, Science, Technology, Engineering or Math.
