ManTech is looking for a Software Engineer to provide support to current projects on our MCTSSA Camp Pendleton, CA contract.
Overview & Responsibilities:
Provide technology solutions and integration for initiatives involving next generation service-oriented architectures and messaging protocols.
Provide technical expertise in support of the migration of tactical C2 data that will assist the Government in adoption of the best overall approach toward Net-Centric operations.
Analysis, design and development of content interchange data models and schemas for new engineering activities that increase interoperability for tactical military information exchanges.
Collaboration in the design and development of interchange messaging data models and content that include, but are not limited to, National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) and Tactical Military message standards.
Creation of messaging schema formats represented by XML and JSON
Development of messaging content transformation solutions with application tools, open source programming libraries and package build tools.
Working with user community to define requirements for new capabilities and then design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain near-real-time Net-Centric Software.
Working with program and team leads to identify requirements, and to assist in designing and development of standards-based solutions.
Meet challenges with resourcefulness; generates suggestions for improving work; develops innovative approaches and ideas; takes calculated risks; ability to present ideas and information.
Perform system and Software testing, including unit testing, before formally submitting to the program.
Prepare and peer review documentation (i.e. Software Requirements Specifications, Test Plans, Code Reviews and Trade Studies).
Provide technical guidance to customers and team members
Mandatory Skills and Experience:
5+ years of relevant experience.
Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Practical experience with application service oriented communications and messaging protocols and serialization libraries for binary, JSON, or XML formats.
Experience with message schema binding and serialization.
Integration experience with web services running on Linux platforms.
Test, build and packaging automation experience to implement Continuous Integration (CI)
Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Practical skills in the implementation of open source application layer communications protocols that may include AMQP, RPC, WAMP and messaging protocols for binary, JSON, or XML formats.
Development and integration experience with Linux, Software containers, such as Docker, and operating system virtualization.
Test, build and packaging automation experience using Ant, Maven, Gulp, or NodeJS Package Manager (NPM)
Familiarity with JSON Schema, NIEM, GML, OWL, and other data architecture open standards and guidance is highly desirable.
Experience in data model design, mapping, and transformation using tools such asOxygen XML, Altova XML Spy, or Altova MapForce
Experience with Agile development methodologies in a CMMI II or higher development organization is desirable.
