Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices.
  • Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
  • Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufactures? manuals or similar documents, to include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating Engineering; changes.
  • Typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment.
  • Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
  • Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices.
  • May provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university and five years minimum work experience in a related discipline or five years related military training or a combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer systems / networking, and simulation platform maintenance.
  • Three years? experience with Microsoft Office software operation and use.
  • Must possess good written composition and verbal communication skills, ability to express facts and rationale.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain an active/valid US security clearance if required.
  • Quality assurance/equipment condition analysis experience desired.
  • Hydraulic systems theory and operations experience desired.
  • Experience with generator maintenance.
  • Must be able to travel to various locations across the U.S. for training.
  • Able to stoop, bend, lift and carry 50 lbs. and climb ladder up to 25 ft.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagram and schematics.
