Raytheon Missile Systems in TUCSON, Arizona is seeking a Program Director (PD) for the Standard Missile 6 (SM-6) Sea Based Terminal (SBT) program. This is a highly visible position both within Raytheon Missiles Systems (RMS), the Missile Defense Agency, and the Department of the Navy. The Program Director will be the primary interface with customer Program office, especially the customer Program Manager.

The PD is the communication focal point regarding program execution and program accomplishments and challenges. The PD will need to accurately and confidently convey fiscal status and concerns regarding EV performance and contract spend rate/spend profile.The PD will work closely with RMS and Customer community continually refining program technical objectives and schedule based on technical requirements and military operation objectives.The responsibility of the PD will include providing guidance and decisions for the balancing of program cost, schedule, technical capability and program risk.

Internally, the PD must provide strategic direction to IPT leads as well as tactical assistance in identifying and mitigating daily obstacles. The PD will also be expected to support growth activities for follow-on work, support and establish future investment strategies. As a key member of the SM-6 Portfolio Leadership Team, the SBT PD will help shape and achieve Portfolio objectives surrounding future growth, hardware and software alignment, and financial goals.

This position requires a high degree of leadership independence and security clearances.

Required Skills:

  • At least 14 years of progressive directly related program and leadership experience.
  • Current existing Top Secret clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience managing defense programs.
  • Demonstrated success quickly forging productive customer relationships
  • Experience working large and complex DoD or MDA programs.
  • Strong business acumen

Desired Skills:
  • 20+ year?s applicable experience (leadership, program, technical).
  • Demonstrated experience partnering across multi-business units.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with employees, senior executives, a diverse customer base and other defense contractors.
  • Experience successfully engaging with upper level leaders across the corporation and within the customer community.
  • Working knowledge of US requirements and acquisition processes.
  • Program Management Certification Level 3 or better.
  • EVMS Certified.
  • Program Management Certification Level 4.

Required Education: Minimum Bachelor?s degree (concentration in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics preferred), Master?s degree preferred.
