Job Description
The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user.

WLED seeks a Senior Multi-Disciplined Engineer who will develop maintenance and operations Technical manuals based out of Woburn, MA.

Responsibilities will include the development and execution of the processes, architecture, and analysis to develop of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), using the Eagle Publishing System (EPS), across multiple product lines to support operator, maintainer, and depot maintenance activities and training requirements. This individual is expected to promote the interaction of supportability engineering with other engineering functions such as design (hardware & software), reliability, maintainability, testability, and safety to produce and generate an integrated Technical publications solution.


This individual will also participate in IETM validation, customer conferences to ensure manuals conformed to contract requirements, and scheduled peer reviews.

In addition, he/she will assist in the development of illustrations, graphics and flow diagrams to support documentation; support contract deliverable documentation; and coordinate with Technical Trainers to identify and provide Technical manual documents to support Organizational Level training courses.

Required Skills

  • 4+ years of professional experience developing written content and/or delivering instruction
  • Experience collaborating and partnering with subject matter experts
  • Experience with Enhanced Automated Graphical Logistics Environment (EAGLE) and/or Eagle Publishing System (EPS)

Desired Skills
  • Demonstrate ability to use analytical skillsets to review generated material, determine required subject matter expert inputs, and interpret engineering Technical data.
  • Experience with Adobe FrameMaker and/or Illustrator
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings
  • Experience with the development of Technical documentation
  • Experience with the development of training documentation
  • Experience with generation of training plans
  • Experience in writing to military specifications, such as MIL-STD 3031, MIL-STD 40051-1 and -2, 2361, MIL-PRF 38784, MIL-DTL 24784, SCORM, TRADOC 350-70, NAVAIR INSTRUCTION 13034, MIL-HDBK 29612, MIL-HDBK 1222, and others.
  • Experience in developing Class 3, Class 4 and/or Class 5 IETMs
  • Experience with XML and/or S-1000D authoring
  • XML Schema Development.
  • Experience with PTC Arbortext.
  • Experience with RADAR and related technologies.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management
  • Experience as a BOE Developer
  • Familiarity with Risk & Opportunity processes
  • Knowledge of export control regulations (ITAR/EAR)
  • Experience with Adobe Create Suite, Iso-draw, or CAD
  • Experience with HTML authoring
  • Prior military service is a plus
  • Able to perform periodic CONUS and OCONUS travel, up to 25%
  • Able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Demonstrate effective leadership and influential skills, interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, team building skills, and multitasking skills.

Required Education
BS/BA degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or a Technical Discipline (STEM). 8+ years of related experience in lieu of a BS/BA (2 years of related experience can = 1 year of college)
