Raytheon is seeking a strong leader for a position as Deputy Program Manager for the USAF Air Operations Center (AOC) Long Term Modification and Sustainment (LTM&S) Program, valued at over $50M/year. In this position, you will serve as a direct report to the AOC Program Director. This position is located in Newport News, VA but will require travel to various customer sites on a periodic basis to ensure high customer satisfaction, positive employee morale, outstanding quality of the work and that the team is meeting all contract performance requirements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing technical program aspects, management of workforce at multiple sites, performing schedule and cost reporting, meeting or exceeding bookings, sales, profit and cash objectives, and providing regular briefings to the customer and other government entities
  • Responsible to help lead a team of engineers and technicians in performing sustainment and modification activities related to C2 operations
  • Works within a multi-functional matrix team to acquire, train, and maintain a sufficient number of qualified and experienced personnel to meet contract performance objectives
  • Leads proposals, facilitates staffing, drives execution, presents program status to leadership, and fosters customer intimacy
  • Implements management and control procedures that afford early recognition of problem areas and expeditious reporting of problems
  • Supports Government conferences, meetings and reviews
  • Responsible for facilitating business development and program growth opportunities for a range of programs related to DoD C2 systems

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 10 years of leadership experience
  • Existing DoD security investigation that supports an immediate Secret clearance
  • Experience leading development or sustainment programs at the Integrated Product Team/project level or above
  • Experience in the preparation of budgets, schedules, staffing, etc. as required to manage support to programs and initiatives of similar scope to the AOC Program
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively interact with leadership, subordinates, customers, and other business organizations
  • Knowledge of DoD contracts and aerospace industry subcontracts management
  • Demonstrate ability to proactively identify risks and opportunities across large, complex programs
  • Experience performing the DPM related functions for contracts in excess of $10M per year

  • Fine-tuned attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience participating in cross-business, cross-company, and industry teams associated to process and policy determination and development
  • Raytheon PM Level 4 Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months (or DAU or PMI equivalent)
