This Human Factors Engineer supports the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle Human-Systems Integration (HSI) activities. The Human Factors Engineer will apply human factors principles, methodologies, and technologies to the design of human-machine systems and products, supporting activities such as: human engineering requirements interpretation, hardware and software user interface design support, human engineering task analyses, and human-in-the-loop evaluations. The Human Factors Engineer will support evaluations in such areas as anthropometry/biomechanics, vehicle architecture, crew interface usability, human-computer interaction, and other elements of spacecraft interior design.
? Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Human Factors Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, or closely related field
? Human Factors Engineering practitioner (i.e., with experience designing and conducting usability tests and task analyses)
? Master?s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Human Factors Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, or closely related field
? Effective, proven communications and presentations skills
? Demonstrated pro-activeness and problem-solving skills
? Familiarity with human space flight
? Previous interface with NASA customer
? Lean 6 Sigma practitioner
