What we are looking for:
CarMax is looking for a Mobile app developer who is passionate about building awesome native apps. This position will work directly with a product manager, user experience & digital marketing experts, and a team of talented developers to design and develop tools that will empower our customers to purchase with confidence.
This developer will work with their team on all aspects of the Android app, the native experience as well as the APIs and services that support the apps. This developer will need to be a team player working closely with a team as well be a key contributor in the Software development life-cycle, performing analysis, design, and app development.
Let?s get under the hood! Here?s some of the experience we?re looking for:
Java/Android (2+ years)
Familiar with Android platform design patterns and best practices
Understanding of principles of REST APIs
What we would really like you to have:
An app (or apps) in the Play Store and/or a GitHub repo that we can view
Experience with Kotlin
Experience with Microsoft .NET to help build the APIs and services our apps rely on
Understanding of Microsoft SQL Server or another relational Database technology
Experience with A/B testing in Mobile apps
Exposure to Continuous integration and deployment
To be effective, you need:
Excellent team player and desire to work in a highly collaborative, team environment
4-year degree in IT related course of study required
Excellent team player
Support an on-call rotation for incidents a few weeks out of the year
Understand Agile Software development
Excellent written communication, able to provide clear technical specifications for business requirements
