We are looking for an Environmental Health & Safety Professional to join our team!
Raytheon has an opportunity for an energetic and motivated Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) professional to support our ongoing compliance and risk reduction efforts at the ELCAN, Midland, Ontario site. In addition to supporting compliance and risk reduction at this complex manufacturing site, the EHSS professional will work with manufacturing teams to foster employee engagement and drive continuous improvement of the EHSS program.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Recognizing, evaluating, and controlling hazardous workplace conditions.
  • Taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and Health of site employees
  • Serving as point of contact for employee compliance questions and concerns and influencing safe behaviours
  • Working with subject matter experts to assure compliance with applicable federal, provincial, local and company EHSS requirement
  • Ensuring that EHSS inspections are conducted, corrective actions are completed on time, and all necessary documentation is kept.
  • Auditing and evaluating current policies, procedures, and documentation to assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Investigating, analyzing, and interpreting data from injuries and near-misses
  • Overseeing the Industrial Hygiene program and performing required sampling (air, water, surface)
  • Position requires limited travel for participation in Company seminars, EHSS audits and training opportunities.
Required Education & Experience:
  • BS/BA degree in Safety, Engineering, Science, or other related field of study
  • Minimum of 4 years applicable EHSS experience
  • Experience with EHSS issues in a complex manufacturing environment, or similar
  • Must be able to work after hours as needed on an infrequent basis
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-starter - able to apply experience to new situations without detailed instructions.
  • Well organized - able to track/follow-up on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Work well within a team environment.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and successfully complete required security clearances
  • Project management and execution skills
