The SAS Electrical Communications Systems Department is currently seeking an Engineering Manager for the Circuit Card Design Section in Fort Wayne, IN.
Job Description: The Section Manager will lead a team of approximately fourteen Engineers working a variety of development and sustainment tasks including circuit card design, module development, proposal cost estimation, test fixture design, and utilization and timing analysis. As a Front Line Leader (FLL), you will be responsible for working with other Mechanical and Electrical Section Managers and Chief Engineers to ensure the proper staffing and execution of programs and proposals. The Section Manager is also responsible for the performance and career development of all the members of the section, providing open and honest feedback to section members, developing talent, and ensuring adequate resources to meet the skill-set demands of our programs. You should be a highly motivated “self-starter” able to lead by example, possessing strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Section Managers are also expected to perform Key roles on Programs such as an overall hardware integrated product team lead (IPTL) and perform special assignments as required by the Electrical Communications Systems Department Manager. As an IPTL you will be responsible for program execution of all Hardware efforts, performance metric collection, status reports and earned value performance reporting.

*Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience in mechanical proposal development, design, documentation and fabrication of DoD programs.
  • Broad based hardware engineering background.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Multi-tasking Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Expert knowledge in one or more of the following Power, digital CCA design, analog CCA design or mixed signals
  • Experience with program cost and schedule monitoring and reporting.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Desired Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in Task Management or other Lead roles on Development programs.
  • Experience as an IPT or CPT Lead
  • EVMS Certified and professional exposure to EVMS or similar budget tracking system

The ideal candidate should possess all of our Basic Qualifications, and one or more of the desired qualifications.

*Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Engineering

Desired Education: Masters of Science in Engineering or equivalent
