The primary duties of the Information Systems Technologist II are to manage and orchestrate all technical aspects of the Digital Range Training System (DRTS). Train technicians in the proper procedures to ensure the DRTS is operational for all scheduled training missions. Act as the Assistant Site Manager in the absence of the Site Manager. Perform duties as a team member during "surge" periods or personnel shortages. Perform the tasks assigned by the Raytheon Site Manager in a manner that enhances customer satisfaction.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
A minimum 2 years of applicable experience OR 10 years in computer networking/electrical systems and/or repair of electronic components in lieu of a degree.
3-5 years? experience in computer networking.
Experience in diagnostics and repair of audio, video, fiber optics, signal switching, and routing.
Assist the Site Manager with coordination for unit training.
Provide technical training and performance feedback to technicians.
Provide technical expertise in the operation and maintenance of DRTS equipment.
Capable of estimating the magnitude of technical efforts (work hours, skill levels and equipment required).
Knowledgeable of DRTS technology to include vendor sources and merging technology.
Determine the life-cycle of each component installed in the DRTS instrumentation system.
Carry out the maintenance plans and goals of the Site Manager.
Supervise the configuration management and inventory control procedures.
Set priorities and work schedules for the team.
Submit input to the Site Manager for periodic reports.
Perform physical security checks of all hand-receipted equipment.
Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to manage time effectively.
Ability to manage a dynamic team during periods of fast-paced mission changes and extended hours
Required Physical Abilities:
Must be able to lift a maximum of 40 lbs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Ability to perform duties in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind) and at heights (towers and phone poles).
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; taste or smell.
Must be able to work non-standard workweeks, any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Will be required to work in compliance with OSHA and Raytheon safety policies and procedures.as appropriate.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
Must be able to obtain a valid state driver?s license and maintain post-driving privileges.
Must be willing to perform duties at other Warrior Training Alliance locations worldwide as required.
Will be required to travel per direction of Raytheon Team Leadership. When travelling, individual will stay in Government-furnished billeting and eat in government dining facilities, if available.
Required Education (including Major): BA Degree in Electronics or related field. 8 Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
