Within SVTAD, the C4I Systems and Innovation Department provides integration, verification, test, and analysis, for US and International Navy customer needs. We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join SVTAD's Integration, Verification, Validation and Data Analysis section in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Job Description:

The System Engineer I/II will work with System Architects/System Leads and System Engineers on architecture/system designs requirements analysis and development to gain full understanding of the architecture and system design. Will include the following responsibilities:

  • Perform design, development, analysis, and debugging of system problems, root cause analysis, and development of corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineers and take ownership authority to integrate, execute and sell-off requirements to verify a successful run for record in the laboratory environment to the Customer.
  • Interface with leads and use integrated test processes, metrics, and techniques to accurately assess integration task progress and status.
  • Support customer briefings, and provide inputs to technical presentations and reports necessary to support specified requirements.
  • Travel to deployment sites for field integration and testing as required

Note: This position can be filled as an G06 or G07 salary grade depending upon the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for this position.

Required Skills:

  • 18+ months of experience in engineering with the development of systems integration, verification, and validation planning documentation of integration and test plans or procedures.
  • Experience with system requirements development using a requirement's management tool
  • Existing DOD Secret Clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Naval Combat System
  • Experience with simulating and modeling using MATLAB and/or Simulink Experience with computer programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Java) Strong analytical, research and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience using DOORS requirements management tool
  • Understanding of System Engineering Product Development Cycle
  • Results-oriented, self-starter, research and solve problem, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally with senior leadership, and with the team

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering; Computer Science; Math – Applied, Mechanical Engineering, Physics
