The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Operations in support of all Manufacturing efforts. You will be responsible for manufacturing readiness through investigation of pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, interchangeability, irreplaceability, contractual requirements and cost. Candidate will coordinate with Engineering and Quality to affect design development by checking layouts and designs for clarity, completeness, and conformity to standards, specifications, test procedures, accuracy, identify design errors, omissions and other deficiencies and recommend improvements to responsible engineers or designers. Position requires working directly with vendors to resolve manufacturing, reliability and quality issues. You will manage 7-10 manufacturing personnel including assembly and test disciplines. You will design plans for activities such as assembly, sequence of operations and procedures for functions that affect Product performance. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan, review performance, investigate and initiate corrective action of problems or deficiencies to ensure Product quality both internally and with vendors. Provide guidance to Engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements. Candidate may be asked to research and recommend part substitutions and maintain master list of approved components. Some project management and proposal generation may also be required.

Required skills:

  • Minimum of 8 years? experience; 6 of those years working as a Manufacturing Engineer
  • PWB and CCA process, track record of working with vendors to develop process and quality plans
  • Understanding of complex electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Working knowledge of IPC workmanship standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate across entire organization
  • Experience working as a lead on multi-functional teams including direct interface with suppliers

Desired skills:

  • Proven people management skills
  • Prior Aerospace Defense experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication
  • Component Engineering
  • Knowledge of lead finishes and RoHS, mixed finish CCA assembly process
  • Working experience with SAP type MRP system
  • Project Management/Proposal generation
  • Autocad/Solidworks

Required Education: Bachelor Degree in Engineering ? Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Quality or other related technical discipline

Desired Education: IPC certification

This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons.
