The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user.

Job Description:
This WLED section is responsible for all aspects of reliability, maintainability and sustainability of specific fielded sub systems within the Integrated Defense Systems business area.

The section’s objective is to provide technical analysis of system test data in support of the program reliability and maintainability concept, logistics support to the maintenance facilities around the world, full time on-site support at one CONUS maintenance facility, and on-site support for other facilities as-required.

In this position, you will be responsible for the coordination and execution of program tasking in accordance with program cost, schedule, and technical requirements. Tasking includes, but is not limited to: scoring of system surveillance and flight testing, analysis of system test data from the maintenance facilities,
generation and execution of storage/aging test and analysis plans, provide technical support to the maintenance facilities for the disposition of system hardware, monitor and trend failure occurrences at the maintenance facilities and provide recommendations to the applicable customers.

You will work under consultative direction in providing data driven recommendations and solutions to the customer covering a wide range of technical subjects including, electrical, electromechanical, mechanical, hydraulic, and energy systems.

You will serve as the organization spokesperson and advisor to management and customers for all program Reliability, Maintainability, and Sustainability requirements and be required to provide technical briefings to large audiences including customers.

Periodic travel (approximately 4-5 times annually) to continental U.S. locations for up to one week at a time.

Required Skills:

  • 6 + years’ experience in a hardware engineering role in assembly, disassembly, reliability and maintenance of complex aerospace systems
  • Experience assessing Reliability and Maintainability performance of fielded equipment
  • Existing Confidential Clearance
Desired Skills:
  • Ability to manage multiple technical projects and customer requests in a fast paced operations environment
  • Develop and provide technical presentations to large audiences including the U.S. and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers
  • Experience with System assembly, disassembly and test
  • Understanding and wide application of engineering experience
  • Experience performing Reliability Centered Maintenance and Condition Based Maintenance analyses and support
  • Certification in the area of Reliability, Availability and Maintenance
  • Understanding of EVMS and its implementation
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Experience with MSOffice tools
  • Experience with Oracle databases and Sequel Queries
Required Education (including major)
  • BS/BA in Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or other related STEM discipline
  • 8+ years of experience related to this job description may be taken in lieu of a BS/BA (2 years of applicable experience equals 1 year of College)
