Responsibilities for this Position
GDMS has an immediate opening for a Cloud Solutions Consultant to join our Westwood, MA team. . The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation?s fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
The Cloud Solutions Consultant:
Handles complex long-term focused projects involving multiple disciplines or business units. Provides leadership and direction to high priority or special projects undertaken by the business area. Recommends appropriate technological alternatives. Evaluates new technological developments and evolving business requirements. Provides high-level specialized technical support and consultation to business and IT management.
Develops and manages supplier portfolios and undertakes supplier negotiations through relationship-building to maximize business benefits. Identifies opportunities for increased competitive bidding and more efficient procurement processes. Supports the development and execution of RFX?s. Negotiates agreements knowing acceptable deviations from Federal Standards, items that must be disclosed under the Federal Prime Contract, supplier audit rights & practices and negotiating audit limits. Negotiates and resolves disputes with suppliers.
Leads the development of the technical solution or offering, in translating the business needs into technical requirements. Identifies gaps, strategic impacts, financial impacts and the risk profile in the technical solution or offering, and provides technical support.
Responsible for the negotiation, relationship management, tracking, troubleshooting and reporting of all technology related contract commitments. Tracks and monitors data necessary to ensure compliance to negotiated contracts on an ongoing basis and provides ad hoc reporting as required by enterprise systems such as contract terms, dollar spend, process compliance. Pro-actively conducts market analysis / market screenings benchmarking, track market trends and manages supplier performance.
Continuously analyze and seek opportunities for improvement.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES/ WORK EXPERIENCE
BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, IT Engineering or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
At least 5-8+ years? experience in strategic and or tactical procurement within Government as well as internal procurement environments; Minimum 3 to 5+ years of experience in a technical lead role with expertise in a variety of information technology concepts (Cloud), practices, and procedures.
Has knowledge of cybersecurity, the basics of IT (Information Technology) and IA (Information Assurance) and IS (Information Security). As well as OMB, FIPS Standards and NIST Standards (National Institute of Standards and Technology), data breach liability, prevention and defense; Federal laws and requirements, FAR privacy and security safeguards, Executive Actions and new FAR and DFARs rules; DIACAP security implementation and how Cloud Service providers are vetted. Knowledge of Cloud-ready applications, such as those built on open standards, network development and monitoring skills, and security skills. Knowledge of international cybersecurity a plus.
Understanding of procurement and sourcing strategies; Knowledge of purchasing systems (e.g. Ariba), MS office applications and Government purchasing processes.
Strong customer focus, presentation skills, business acumen and highly developed collaboration skills. Ability to establish clear priorities and effectively manage multiple demand and time resources.
