The position is in the Corporate US Business Development organization on the Missile Defense team and located in Rosslyn, Va. This individual is responsible for actively engaging the Missile Defense customer community to identify and develop new opportunities and work with Raytheon businesses for pursuit and leading efforts to align the Business units in a one Raytheon Missile Defense Business Development Strategy.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Acts as voice of the customer for Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and advises Raytheon Business leadership, reflecting knowledge of DoD acquisition rules, markets, customer needs, regulations, trends, budgets, legislation, politics and competitive intelligence
  • Leads the Missile Defense Team through both a preliminary and detailed analysis of the annual Missile Defense Agency budget, assessing program impacts and opportunities for growth
  • Integrates Missile Defense Team assessments into the larger oneRTN Strategic Dialog, and continues Strategy to action initiatives thru sponsorship of the Missile Defense Executive Committee (MD EXCOM)
  • Participates in Business Unit Strategy Sessions, Color Team Reviews, and Gate Reviews as a USBD representative with the goal of improving the quality of proposal submissions and raising RTN Pwin
  • As a senior member of the BD team in Capitol region, leads interaction with senior customer officials to build Business opportunities for Business capabilities
  • Leads efforts to integrate the Raytheon businesses into a one company approach to Missile Defense BD; Drives and organizes cross-company, cross-corporate working groups and other teams to enhance overall performance of the company
  • Continually interfaces and builds positive relationships with senior and working level current and potential customers to understand their requirements, desires, and concerns
  • Uses competitive intelligence, market information, intimate customer knowledge, and Business skills to develop customer value propositions that support Business solutions/winning proposals
  • Identifies growth opportunities for Raytheon businesses; leads customer-focused marketing support efforts through direct engagement with MDA and other Defense customers, making recommendations back to leaders within the Raytheon businesses
  • Possesses the highest standards of leadership and integrity
  • Develops and presents accurate, concise, and timely opportunity decision briefings for senior and executive management

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with MDA either as a member of the Government/Service or as an employee of a contractor doing missile defense Business
  • Current knowledge and/or relevant experience dealing with international programs and customers; familiarity with FMS and DCS processes a plus
  • Current knowledge of and relationships with mid- to senior-level staff at MDA
  • Highly skilled at dealing with all levels of the DoD, Services, MDA, and other defense contractors
  • Proven success and ability to develop effective professional relationships through personal influence ? proactive, responsive, consistent and persistent
  • Proven track record of understanding customer requirements and mission needs with a focus on collaboration; effectiveness in identifying opportunities for strategic alliances, opening new opportunities and market segments
  • Fourteen years of working experience in progressively more responsible leadership positions
  • 14 years related experience
  • Bachelor?s degree in Business, engineering or related discipline
  • Active Secret Level Clearance or higher
