The Principal Financial Analyst will work in the Intelligence, Information & Services (IIS) Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) organization and reports to the FP&A Senior Manager of Cash Management. The role provides the opportunity to develop and manage a cash flow forecast across a portfolio of programs, taking into account multiple types of contracts and payment terms for the Navigation, Weather and Services (NWS) Mission Area of IIS. This includes invoicing and collection forecasting, tracking cash receipts, identifying cash flow risks and/or opportunities to the forecast, supporting identification and resolution of unbilled cost and collection issues, net investment reporting and analysis, and supporting quarterly balance sheet reviews with IIS Financial Leadership. Furthermore, this role includes long term cash planning as part of developing the business’s Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and 5-Year Strategic Plan.

  • 6+ years of relevant professional working experience
  • Demonstrated analytic ability with large data sets
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
  • Creative in simplifying and automating reports
  • Proven problem identification and problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of APEX / BW
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Required Education (including degree):

Bachelor of Science in Finance, General Business Administration or Accounting
