Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) is seeking an Airborne Sensing and Targeting system engineer to provide algorithm development, performance analysis, and integration support to multiple programs. Responsible for developing, integrating, testing, and qualifying technology for precision time-transfer into and within airborne targeting and surveillance sensor systems. Includes signal processing related to GPS 1PPS time knowledge, 1553 bus time, and time-tagging to support GPS/INS systems and inertial navigation products. This system engineering position will be responsible for developing, integrating, and maintaining enhancements to precision time transfer and alignment capabilities across multiple airborne sensing products and programs. This position would require leading and interacting with software and firmware engineers across the product line.
Minimum of 2 years engineering development experience
Experience with digital signal processing for airborne sensing platforms
Experience with computer modeling and simulation
Proficiency with MATLAB/Python and/or other algorithm development and analysis tools
Experience with embedded C/C++ implementation of signal processing algorithms
Able to work independently on complex analysis projects
Strong technical writing and oral communication skills
U.S. Citizenship and ability to access to US only data systems
This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons.
Experience designing with the Mil-STD-1553 Bus Architecture
Experience with linear control systems and dynamics
Experience with GPS/INS airborne system integration
Experience with VHDL Firmware
Required Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Math, Applied Physics, or Computer Engineering.
Desired Education: M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Math, Applied Physics, Systems Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
