Japan Program Manager II, Japan Patriot Spares
Job Description: The Japan Patriot Spares Program Manager is responsible for the successful spares program management to assure flawless execution thru the CET & JCF, managing development of the additional JCAs & export tasks associated with that scope of work, driving opportunities to accelerate sales both internally and with the customer, and teaming with the customer to identify additional spares/piece part sales opportunities.
The Japan Patriot Spares Program Manager will be responsible for the overall execution of approximately $200M of sales, 5-year plan.
This position requires an individual who has worked in a production environment, who has the ability to offer solutions to the customer and to resolve any technical issues that are identified. This individual will need to have a close working relationship with the Patriot Core Execution Team as well as Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering and the Japan Central Facility.
The Japan Patriot Spares Program Manager will work closely with Japan Industry, the licensed co-producer of the Patriot System. The prime contractor for Patriot is Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Position requires significant interaction and communication with over 10 partners and Japan Industry. In addition to the Japan Industry interaction, significant coordination with the program trading partner, Mitsubishi Corporation, will be required.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to, supporting contract negotiations by analyzing delivery gaps, reviewing obsolescence and providing the customers with deliveries that support their needs. Position provides continuous support of Japan?s Annual Service Practice, Program Reviews (Domestic and in Japan), IESP/FSP and any other conferences or meetings that requires our support.
Required Skills:

This Position can be either a G10 or G11 based on Successful candidates qualifications.

  • 8 years of experience in production and engineering support environment and/or business experience
  • Ability to obtain PM Certification Level 4
  • B.S. / B.A. in Engineering, Science or Mathematics
  • Experience interacting directly with the customer
  • Experience with current manufacturing systems and processes
  • Currently possess an existing Secret Clearance (DoD)
  • Experience implementing EVMS and Risk & Opportunity Management
  • Experience working with IPDS
  • Experience in program planning, budgeting, and tracking to cost and schedule
  • Experience in leading a team including members from engineering, operations, integrated supply chain, and/or quality
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master of Science or MBA from an accredited university or similar advanced degree desired
  • Patriot experience (including CET interaction)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lead R6s projects
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements
  • Experience managing through organizational change and rapid growth
  • Ability to lead by influence and collaboration
  • Technical, communication, and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of MRP systems and PRISM
  • Experience in Production Environment for entire Product Life Cycle from material release through contract sale
  • Experience in the production of complex systems
