Plans the layout, fixturing, and fabrication of mechanical devices; sets up and operates any type of precision machine tool including lathes, mills, grinders, saws, etc. to make original parts, tools, mechanisms, and devices for experimental purposes. Work to verbal instruction, sketches, or detailed drawings. Required to solve problems relative to work-holding arrangement, unusual materials, machine settings, tools and cutters, product specifications, and fabrication methods. Will interface extensively with research engineers to refine requirements, recommend fabrication processes and perform estimates. Normally performs precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions in a developmental laboratory condition.
Bachelor?s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
CAD experience, with Autocad, and/or ProEngineer/Creo
CNC Programing/Conversational programming
Experience with Microsoft Office.
Knowledgeable in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
30.0 GPA or higher
