GDIT is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, results-oriented FAA NAS Systems Engineer/Document specialist. The incumbent will have experience with cloud technology and the adoption experience. The Systems Engineer will provide engineering, technical and program office support to the Federal Aviation Administration as we move applications into the NAS.


  • Document application systems designs and provide updates to documentation as changes are made.
  • Follow DoDAF Architecture Framework standards with all documentation
  • Responsible for working with the current system owners to successfully migrate functional systems into the NAS environment
  • Ability to present all documentation to a team of Engineers and Manageres.
  •  Experience with supporting or collaborating with enterprise information management and data services projects
  • Experience supporting activities within the engineering lifecycle including early conceptual work and operational requirements identification, functional analyses, trade studies, test and evaluation, and deployment.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary team of consisting of engineers, business analysts, and operational subject matter experts
  • Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.
  • Participates in independent technical investigations in systems design.


  • 11+ years relevant work experience
  • Experience with FAA National Airspace System (NAS) requirements and systems engineering is required
  • Expert knowledge of automation systems and sensors operating within the NAS
  • Expert knowledge and skills with documenting systems using DoDAF Architecture Framework is required.
  • Strong collaborative written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders
  • Familiar with FAA- STD-026A NAS Software Development Standard, or equivalent.
  • Support engineering, strategic planning, policy formation, and operational change activities for the portfolio
  • Coordinate and support stakeholder management activities in response to customer operational and system requirements
  • Participate in integrated product teams and drive the proper application of systems engineering processes within the program
  • Develop and manage to systems/solution evolution timeline including oversight of integrated schedules for system development and enhancement efforts


  • BS in Systems Engineering or other engineering discipline
  • 10 + years? experience
