Job Description:

This is a Command and Telemetry (C&T) Database (DB) Engineer position for the Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) IPT on a complex Space Program. As the C&T DB Engineer you will take ownership of an existing C&T database to update and maintain it under configuration control. The C&T DB Engineer will work closely with the electronics design engineers, software developers, System Concept of Operations (CONOPS) Engineer and collaborate with the System Integration & Test Team. The C&T DB Engineer will understand the system interfaces and gain an understanding to the operations of each command, the constraints associated with the command, the translation of telemetry to engineering units, and the development of telemetry limits.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 4 years of engineering experience
  • Experience in System Concept of Operations (CONOPS)
  • Experience in Command and Telemetry
  • Ability to interface across teams such as Electronics, Systems, Software, and Test
  • Detail and team oriented individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to access to US only data systems as separate requirements within the basic qualifications/required skills list
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
  • Required active SSBI clearance

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Command and Telemetry
  • Experience with System Architectures
  • Familiarity with FPGA Memory Maps
  • Familiarity with SpaceWire (SpW) commands
  • Experience with Flight Software Sell-off
  • Experience with generating chart packages for and presenting at Change Control Boards (CCB) or Engineering Review Boards (ERB)
  • Master's Degree/PhD in relevant field

Education: Bachelor?s degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or Math (STEM)
