DescriptionAbout the Position:
Working for the Global Head of Organization Development, you are responsible for leading the Organizational Effectiveness functional as part of the Global Organization Development Center of Excellence (CoE). You will take accountability for looking ahead at National Grid?s future needs and for leading the development and implementation of an integrated strategy comprising of culture, engagement, organization design and other organizational effectiveness enablers.
Working with the Lead HRBPs and key business leaders, you will be required to identify, resource and implement a road map of key programs globally that enables National Grid to meet its strategic aims.
Position Responsibilties (including but not limited to):
Lead the review and translation of the National Grid strategy and business plans into a specific set of Organization Effectiveness priorities which are agreed, scoped and budgeted with the respective Lead HRBPs and Business leaders.
Develop and direct innovative ideas and solutions to business problems, researching, planning and coordinating implementation of organisational effectiveness programmes and acting as the organisation?s expert across the full range of organisational effectiveness activities.
Partner with business leaders to develop strategies related to culture, employee engagement, performance management and organization design in order to enable the business to achieve its strategic goals.
Lead, motivate and develop a team of specialist HR professionals from OD and across the regional / functional HR teams on a range of people-related priorities including organisational development, performance management, engagement and strategic workforce planning, in order to deliver joined up HR solutions that enhance and improve business performance in line with the organisational strategy.
Proactively build a broad and strong network of relationships with partners and peers and scan the external market for best practices against which we can benchmark our own frameworks and approaches to continuously improve the way we assess and manage the effectiveness of the organization.
Responsible for key deliverables including:
Develop and drive an culture programme in order to ensure that the business?s values are embedded and that the organisation?s leaders and staff are equipped to deliver sustainable results in line with the business strategy.
Oversee the review, refresh and delivery of the employee engagement strategy (and survey activity) ensuring that it provides a true reflection of engagement within National Grid, providing strategic insights to the lines of business and corporate functions and ensuring these insights are captured in the overall Organization Development strategy. This includes Employee Value Proposition (EVP).
As a thought leader in this area, you will own and ensure consistent application of the organizational design methodology, framework, tool and resources and will constantly apply best practice approaches to ensure they remain fit for purpose.
Own and execute National Grid?s performance management process (P4G) in collaboration with Group Reward, Lead HRBPs and business leaders including ensuring the strategy is fit-for-purpose, process is followed and best practices integrated.
Provide support to specific business-owned projects (including priority organization design projects) by way of thought leadership, consulting, resources, or project management as appropriate based on Global strategic value, Global HR priorities or size.
Work with the GHRLT and Lead HRBPs to establish a key set of criteria for future Organization Effectiveness work appropriate for the business areas and work to allocate specific projects budget, resources, and support as part of the Global HR Planning process.
Knowledge & Experience Required:
Educated to degree level together with a strong business background and experience of managing a range of HR disciplines.
Has a deep understanding of organizations strategy, performance goals and drivers. Understand the sector in which the organization operates and the market factors that impact performance. Understand and speaks the ?language of the business? and understands how the full range of Human Resources levers that drives organizational effectiveness.
Deep expertise and experience in Organization Development and in particular culture, organization design, engagement, performance management, and other organizational effectiveness levers.
Experience leading and delivering global change projects in a large, complex organisation, particularly leading organisational culture change and business improvement projects. Extensive project management experience including influencing, communicating, inspiring and role modelling in a large organisation during periods of significant change.
Stakeholder, facilitation and influencing skills to achieve significant organisational impact despite managing diverse and divergent interests.
Ability to identify and implement innovative approaches to organisational effectiveness, thinking strategically and systemically to achieve results working across organisational and international boundaries.
Proven track record in achieving sustainable results.
