JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Modeling Analyst Description SAIC is seeking a highly motivated individual who can contribute to advances in the design, development and application of modeling, simulation, analysis, and optimization tools and technologies to support the needs of a diverse set of internal and external customers. Candidates should have an interest in, and experience developing and/or using numerical modeling, simulation, optimization, and analysis tools. This job opportunity will involve working (as part of a team) with customers to collect, assess and organize data, design and develop static and dynamic models, perform analyses, and use reports and in-person briefings to provide customers with results and insights that help expand understanding of their decision space.

Qualifications

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have an active DOE Q or DOD Top Secret clearance to start. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research (4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree)
  • 2 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and applying stochastic discrete event simulation tools for analysis of complex high-consequence systems
  • Experience with data analysis and synthesis
  • Advanced experience with Excel

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Formal training and experience using the FlexSim 3-D discreet event simulation tool
  • Experience in areas such as capacity modeling, process simulation, systems analysis, data analysis, statistics, and optimization
  • Experience with event simulation modeling
  • Experience with the Nuclear Deterrence Mission Area
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and interacting with external customers
