We are looking for an experienced and talented Radiometric Analyst and Payload Systems Engineer who can support EO/IR sensor development, program execution and work product development as well as AI&T activity. This role requires experience in radiometric data analysis, domain knowledge of EO/IR sensing electronic system design, the ability to manage and evaluate technical solutions for the development of complex EO/IR systems for high reliability applications, and hands-on skills for design, build, integration, and test of such systems.

You will support the research, design, development, analysis, and testing of optical and OPIR imaging systems, performing radiometric and spectral characterization, and design of image quality. You will support the creation of optical and radiometric requirements at all levels, including system and sub-assembly, and you will perform radiometric characterization and calibration of remote sensing systems. You will conduct sensor performance verification and data analysis and prepare associated reports and presentations. This will help develop advanced space payloads for sensing missions in the military, civil, and commercial domains. Required Skills:

  • 8+ years engineering experience with at least 4 years working in EO/IR systems engineering
  • 4+ years of experience in radiometry and radiometric calibration
  • 4+ years of experience in space systems
  • Experience with spacecraft on-orbit operations and data analysis
  • Experience with space sensor testing and analysis
  • Demonstrated deep knowledge of electromagnetism
  • Experience in numerical modeling and simulation, and performing analysis using MATLAB, C++, Python, Fortran, or similar language
  • Demonstrated problem solving, organization, coordination, and planning skills
  • Experience in working with multi-disciplined teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and negotiation skills
  • Familiarity with system development phases including requirements, architecture, design, build, test, and deploy
  • Ability to work independently, determine and develop approaches to solutions
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to access to US only data systems


Desired Skills:
  • Experience with OPIR systems
  • Experience in space product design and lifecycle
  • Experience in working on space hardware
  • Knowledge of the electronics used in electro-optical imagery and focal plane technology
  • Familiarity with designing and testing optical subsystems related to space EO/IR payload systems

  • Experience in leading testing activities such as environmental, thermal, vibration, and EMI testing
  • Experience with STE design, testing and operation
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Familiarity with cost and schedule management using a government approved Earned Value Management System
  • Knowledge of EO/IR instrument’s power and thermal subsystems
  • Knowledge of US Export/Import law in regards to space technologies
  • Active DoD Secret clearance desired


Required Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline.
