GDIT has partnered with NASA to consolidate select Procurement, Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology activities from the ten NASA Centers into a single shared services center located at Stennis Space Center in southern Mississippi.
The NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) mission is to provide timely, accurate, high quality, cost-effective, and customer focused support for selected NASA business and technical services.
GDIT has an opportunity at the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) for a Human Resources Professional to contribute to our success in the area of new hire in-processing for NASA employees. This will be a full-time position onsite at NASA Stennis Space Center, Mississippi.
The In-Processing Specialist serves as a caseworker and provides new NASA employees with a primary Point of Contact (POC) throughout their on-boarding process to include tailored communication and individualized counseling based on the new hire?s specific employment type.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Monitor, approve and accept electronic on-boarding forms and ensure forms are accurate and include information needed for processing the new hire?s personnel and payroll data.
Provide assistance to new hires with completing the necessary forms for in-processing using an Entrance on Duty System (EODS).
Provide counseling to new hires on their benefits eligibility based on the appointment type and assisting with benefits enrollment.
Ensure that all required documents are received and imported in the electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF) and perform quality review on the received and/or completed package.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum of 6 years of HR experience.
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience and knowledge of PC-based computers and software experience using the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook.
Federal HR experience in the area of in-processing and benefits counseling.
Knowledge of ServiceNow Case Management.
Knowledge of Office of Personnel Management (OPM) laws, regulations and standards to include Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB), Federal Employee Group Life Insurance (FEGLI), Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), Civil Servant Retirement System (CSRS), CSRS Offset and Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS).
Skilled in using technical systems that support Federal HR services.
