This position is in support of the Raytheon’s cyber Managed Security Service (MSS) Research and Development (R&D) team. Raytheon’s MSS objective is to provide a suite of cybersecurity services, including Threat Monitoring, Detection, Analysis and Response and Security Assessment and Incident Response services to government, critical national infrastructure and commercial customers. The MSS supports Raytheon’s strategic goal of Global Growth by increasing our domestic and international Cyber business and driving business and customer success. The R&D team develops and implements the MSS technology and capability roadmap. Given Raytheon’s cybersecurity experience, including establishing Security Operation Centers (SOCs) and MSSs in the United States, Middle East, and United Kingdom, Raytheon is well positioned to deliver cybersecurity services to our customer base.
Raytheon is seeking an experienced Software Developer to advance several projects related to cyber security operations. Candidates should have advanced experience and knowledge in Python, Django, Databases (mySQL, PostgreSQL), Docker, AngularJS, nodeJS, cloud services (AWS/Azure), and Application Programmer’s Interface (API) development. This role will work exclusively in *nix (Linux/MacOS) and should be adept at Linux-based development. Must be comfortable working with a geographically diverse development team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working with a team of Software developers to deliver projects to support the Cyber Security Operations team and Security Service Offerings.
  • Working closely with Development Project Managers and Business Analysts to produce accurate delivery estimates and manage the transition from analysis through to design and delivery.
  • Provide progress updates to Development Project Managers to ensure the management of any delivery risks or concerns.
  • Work with other teams in Raytheon to ensure alignment and coordination across operations as part of the seamless implementation of existing and new systems.
  • Work on a wide range of projects involving the implementation of new and existing systems, solutions, and processes.
Required Technical Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Systems, Engineering, Science, or Mathematics
  • 8+ years concentration in performing software development with at least 3 years of development experience
  • In-depth and current experience with Linux-based development
  • Strong ability and desire to quickly learn new technologies
  • Understanding of the full lifecycle development process, including understanding business and functional requirements, developing technical designs, implementing scalable solutions, and object-oriented design and analysis
  • Experience in requirements capture, analysis techniques, and process improvement approaches
  • Advanced level knowledge of databases
  • Experience with Unit Tests and Testing Frameworks
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery (Build/Deployment Plans)
  • Experience with API Development
  • Experience with system integration with SaaS type offerings (Salesforce, ServiceNow)
  • Source control management tools (Git)
