Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems is seeking a candidate with extensive Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) expertise to manage and develop a segment of their Space Systems business area. The position involves strategic planning and development of technology roadmaps, including collaborating with multiple on-going pursuits, in order to merge and create markets for existing technologies.
The candidate will be able to effectively work within a team environment, and positively contribute to the overall business development and Space Systems growth goals. As a technical leader, the candidate will expand and influence program development by working closely with the other technical lead engineers, to set future technology and process direction for the program. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must; the candidate will generate and contribute to proposals and white papers, as well as represent Raytheon technical capabilities at various Customer and Raytheon sites.
The ideal candidate is an experienced software development engineer, effective communicator, task leader, and technical decision maker. Also, the candidate should have experience mentoring junior engineers and leading either all-software or cross-functional engineering teams.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
