Cyber SecuritySystem Security Engineer II (CSSE II)

The Cyber security System Security Engineer II is a system security engineer role, working withinSpecial Access Programs (SAPs) supporting SMC and AFSPC acquisition programs.The position will provide “day-to-day” support for Collateral, SensitiveCompartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities tomeet NIST Cyber security requirements for system assessment & authorization.

Performance shall include:

Supportor lead a team of System Security Engineers and Certification and AccreditationAnalysts responsible for ensuring the customer’s national and internationalsecurity interests are protected as acquisition systems are designed and tested

Chairand or Co-Chair customer and SAP community IA working groups, participate inSSE IPT reviews

Performoversight of the development, implementation and evaluation of informationsystem security program policy; special emphasis placed upon integration withexisting SAP network infrastructures

Providesexpert level consultation and technical services on all aspects of InformationSecurity

ReviewSSE related designs and provides security compliance recommendations

Developand provide IA risk management recommendations to the customer

ProvideSSE support for Mission and Training systems design and development

Assistwith development and maintenance of the Program Protection Plan &Cybersecurity Strategy

Assistwith site activation activities and design reviews

Representthe Government Program Manager in various SSE related working groups, advisorygroups, and advisory council meetings


8-10years total experience, including minimum 4 years’ experience within SCI or SARenvironment. Minimum 2 years of SAP relevant experience highly desired.


Bachelor’sdegree in a related discipline or equivalent additional experience (4 years)


Mustmeet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive8570.01-M for

Information Assurance TechnicianLevel 3 and Information Assurance Manager Level 2 within 6

months of the date of hire


CurrentTop Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility

Eligibilityfor access to Special Access Program Information

Willingnessto submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph


Mustbe familiar with security policy/manuals and the appropriate ICDs/JAFANs/DODManuals and other guiding policy documents

Fullunderstanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint SAP ImplementationGuide (JSIG) processes for system accreditation, along with legacy (DITSCAP,DIACAP) processes

Musthave the ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact withnumerous DOD, military/civilian personnel and industry partners

Workingknowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

Possessa high degree of originality, creativity, initiative requiring minimalsupervision

Willingnessto travel within the organizational Area of Responsibility (AOR) (note - couldbe

extensive, and will include bothair and ground transportation)
