Description: The individual will be responsible for the following:
- Provide manufacturing engineering support to manufacturing teams in the fabrication of microelectronics and electro-optical modules.
- Working in both a concurrent engineering environment for new product development and a recurring engineering change environment for existing products. Review product drawings for manufacturability and effects of dimensional tolerance on the function of the assembly. Assist in product, tooling and facilities layout design reviews.
- Provide troubleshooting, lead hardware and yield improvement teams and provide written work instructions. Provide technical problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective action for manufacturing. Incorporate or develop Change Requests, Rework and Repair instructions, and Stock Purges. Develop and
evaluate continuous process improvements and cost reductions of precision electro-optical-mechanical assemblies and systems. Provides interface to Engineering Quality, Procurement and
Management regarding design changes to improve producibility as well as reporting status.
Create, maintain and update Manufacturing Processes and Plans. Incorporate Engineering changes and redlines.
Ensure that assembly, inspection and test requirements are met in production. Create, disposition, process and monitor Quality Discrepancies to closure.
Hands on experience of solder, hermetic sealing, and
environmental processes are strongly desired.
Desired Skills: Minimum 3.0 GPA
Experience with micro-electronics materials, manufacturing processes, and packaging techniques.
Experience with both MMW and electro-optic detector modules.
Experience in the electrical test and troubleshooting of micro-electronic modules.
MIL-PRF-38534 and MIL-STD-883 experience.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college.
Ability to obtain a clearance
