The Weapons Facilities Engineer will plan, design, construct and maintain facility improvement projects and daily operations, including the preparation of basic designs, specifications, plans, estimates and reports for the development and modification of facility infrastructure. Assists in the development of consultant requests for proposals on professional projects and/or construction services.
Essential Job Functions: (not limited to duties as described ? performs related duties as requested)
Manages and oversees Weapons Facilities engineering projects for design, design-build.
Manages and oversees construction from any source of funding and with any execution agent
Develops and designs plans for new buildings and other facilities associated with weapons storage, maintenance and support.
Prepares work schedules to meet deadlines on assigned projects.
Inspects of construction projects and oversee the work of outside contractors.
Evaluates roads and buildings and submit data to help establish and annual budget for road and building repair.
Prepares estimates and statements of work (SOW's) for infrastructure maintenance and development projects.
Performs qualitative and quantitative research and data gathering and identify key themes, trends, and opportunities from complex data sets.
Education & Experience:
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, from a program certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); and have and maintain professional registration as an engineer under the requirements of the New Mexico State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in facility and infrastructure design.
Minimum of two (2) years' experience in study and design of weapons storage and maintenance facilities.
