The Operations Manager will serve as a member of the Space Program Operations team supporting the Missile and Space Defense (M&SD) product area. This position will support programs in the M&SD product area which include both Missile Warning and Special Mission programs.
The successful candidate will ensure that Operations functional and factory areas are adequately executing efforts to meet program and operations requirements, cost and schedule along with hardware deliverables. He/she will be responsible and accountable to ensure Operations meets all program quality, schedule and performance objectives and ensures the programs are compliant with Operations policies, practices, processes, procedures, and supportive of the factory.
The position is responsible for coordinating product area efforts with multiple functions (Engineering, SCM, Program Office, Ops, Contracts, Property, Finance and Quality) to achieve program business objectives through all phases of the program, proposal through execution and close-out. In addition he/she may support proposal and gate activities within the M&SD product area. He/she will act independently, guided by minimal oversight along with following company policies and procedures, to provide overall operations success of the program.
This position will require daily interface with program managers and customers to communicate operations status, issues and opportunities. The position will provide weekly status for Program Operations Leadership and the program to support weekly PPR and monthly PMR meetings with the customer. Program Operations must be the “focal point” for all program related manufacturing activities, developing manufacturing plans that are comprehensive to execute programs and managing the risk and opportunities to meet program commitments.
As part of the manufacturing plan, the position will work on Make/Buy/Where activities, Capacity model planning, and engage on capital planning/execution by interfacing functional and support groups. The successful candidate will establish and execute the operations plan to meet the program requirements for the product life cycle.
