Typical job functions include participation on collaborative, cross-discipline integrated product teams, employing agile software development techniques and tools to plan, design, develop, test, and integrate complex application software products (planning services and real time decision aids/services) which our customers use to manage, and control assets in the field. As part of the software team you will be responsible for a portion of the software product, contributing as a software team member, and possibly directing a small software team (1-2 others). Responsibilities span the full lifecycle of product development, from requirements analysis, through architecture and design, implementation, integration and test, and off site customer and supplier integration and test activities. You will work and learn in an engineering organization with the highest software engineering process maturity level as recognized by the Software Engineering Institute.
Major activities within the group include working on Distributed Systems, Autonomy and Autonomy Algorithms, Mathematical Modeling, Simulation Development, Trade Studies and Data Analysis. As a member of this team, the candidate will provide software development expertise in support of DistributedBattle Management, Command and Control (BMC2) across multiple programs and advise on the development of synchronization of resilient architectures and acquisition systems. Selected candidate will get a chance to develop innovative solutions for manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T).
The candidate will have an opportunity to work on technologies that can help accelerate and expand the use of semi-autonomous unmanned air systems teamed with manned tactical aircraft. The candidate will be part of a team that develops and demonstrates a prototype flexible, open, and assured architecture for manned-unmanned teaming. This activity will include inputs into developed architectures to enable rapid addition, modification, and replacement of mission systems and semi-autonomous behaviors. The candidate will have a chance to work on innovative frameworks and architectures that permit quick and effective hardware and software integration between various platforms and payloads. The candidate will provide working demonstrations of multiple UAVs cooperating semi-autonomously in actual flights to achieve mission objectives consistent with human-machine teaming.
