Position Summary

Plan, monitor, and helps establish mile stone target dates in relation to the movement of assigned material goods through the production process flow. Acts as liaison between Engineering, Production and Purchasing to ensure production and established target dates are met. Creates internal job work orders in support of sales order demand

Key Accountabilities

  • Initiates and maintains jobs (created work orders) in SAP, our ERP system for assigned product line
  • Works with key departments to establish make vs. buy decisions on components needed for production
  • Communicates with Engineering on any updates on the Bill of Materials (BOM) and/or routings
  • Updates materials allocations during the build process and determines root-cause-analysis of needed allocations along with disposition (e.g. BOM changes, scrapped/lost parts, customer change orders, etc..
  • Works closely with individual Product Line Managers as well as Leads on maintaining production schedule dates

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal) are imperative
  • Must be able to solve problems and handle multiple and simultaneous projects in a professional and personable manner
  • APICS certification a plus
  • Lean Manufacturing concepts expected
  • Must possess strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, SAP, and ERP systems
  • Working knowledge within an MRP logistics system a huge plus
  • Ideal candidate is self-motivated and can adapt to change very quickly
  • Must be analytical in nature with the "bigger picture" mentality always in foresight

Required Experience and Education

  • Minimum of 0-3 years planning experience working directly in a manufacturing environment
  • HS diploma required. Bachelors' Degree preferred
  • APICS certification a plus
