SAIC is helping the FAA train the next generation of Air Traffic Controllers as they implement the next generation of Air Traffic Control technology. We need experienced former controllers who can blend their years of hard-won experience with these leading edge technologies to train the controllers of the future and help ensure the continued safety of our flying public for decades to come.
 

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) is currently seeking, on-site TRACON Air Traffic Controller for the Terminal Skill Enhancement Workshop.(TSEW.) This position is in support of the FAA Controller Training Contract (CTC). The individual selected will function as an a Terminal Radar Approach  Instructor III at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City, OK.

 
The successful candidate must possess excellent teaching and communication skills, as well as classroom management techniques, a mission-focused drive for continuous improvement, and strong technical skills with current ATC automation, simulation systems and procedures. In addition, this position may provide opportunities for mentoring other instructors, as well as input to curriculum design and development.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
 

Candidates for these instructor positions shall have a minimum of 3 years of CPC ATCS experience in a civilian TRACON or other equivalent civilian facility. This experience must have been at a facility equal to or exceeding an FAA level 10 or above terminal ATC facility. In addition, candidates for these positions must have held the position of CPC ATCS or first-level supervisory ATCS within the 5 years prior to proposed appointment under this contract.

Candidates must have FAA Air Traffic Control OJTI training and experience.
Candidates must be knowledgeable about current equipment and procedures used in Air Traffic Control.
Candidates must be able to interface effectively with FAA personnel at all levels to insure the training delivered is consistent with FAA procedures, responsive to FAA needs, and is comprehensive and of consistently high quality.
 

Qualifications

Qualifications - External

1. Expertise in Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) FAA Level 10 or higher.

2. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.


Education:

 

Certified Professional Controller (CPC) certification required.
