We are currently looking for experienced softwareengineers who will help rebuild our in-house IT technical project deliverycapabilities. Responsibilitiesincluded but not limited to:
Performcomplex analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of computersystem application software
Performactivities ranging from software design, operating architecture integration,and selection of computer systems.
Applyknowledge of one or more technologies, and of one or more platforms andprogramming languages. (ex: UNIX, Mainframe COBOL, CICS, C/C++, OracleCIS/Fusion, MQ series, JCAPS)
Applyintegration and custom development expertise in industry standard programminglanguages to convert functional and technical requirements into businesssolutions.
Create system design work products including conceptual designsand logical technical designs
Review and validate high level estimates for IS InvestmentPlans/Projects
Work effectively with 3rd party suppliers
Perform project tasks following National Grid approved SystemsDevelopment Framework model
Concurrently manage multiple project assignments
Support transformation of the IS organization into a proactive,value-added, business-focused service provider
Demonstrate Valued Business Partner capabilities and behaviors inall interactions with colleagues, vendors and business stakeholders
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Knowledge & Experience Required:
Collage degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalentcombination of education, training, and experience
Five (5) to ten (10) years of professional experiencedemonstrating responsibility for developing solutions in support of large scalesoftware development projects
Experience delivering large scale projects, including developmentof technical requirements, testing and integration plans
Experience with both Waterfall and Agile SDLC methodologies
Functional knowledge on Meter-to-Cash(i.e. Billing, Service Orders, Finance,Credit and Collections)
Experience with Customer platform i.e. Customer/1 (CSS), CRIS
Experience with UNIX, Mainframe, COBOL, CICS, C/C++
Self-directed and motivated. An impeccable reputation for honesty,integrity, and for doing the right thing - a role model for others
Able to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technicaland non-technical audiences
Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate withthird party suppliers/vendors
Possession of excellent critical thinking skills
