Collaborates with customers to develop and define needed levels of process performance and associated quality measures expressed in terms of business outcomes. Integral role in influencing and determining solution paths for both technical and business problems at the operating level. Collaborates with business and IT technical resources to debug and diagnose systems and identifies and defines systems solutions, process changes, or product/service augmentations required to fulfill stated business requirements. Collaborates with business and technical resources to define the business purpose of reports, their justification, attributes/columns, owners and runtime parameters. Delivers creative analysis and solutions to complex challenges while working within approved IT architectures.
The Sr IT Reporting Analyst – Marketing will provide analytics support to our marketing team located in the Chicago office. The business marketing team is comprised of functions that plan our promotional and advertising investments and track their effectiveness. These functions are supported by various analysts, data scientists and management support roles.
Helping the Marketing team to stand up a centralized, cloud based analytics environment leveraging both internal and external data.
Subject matter expert for marketing data- Both models and functional understanding.
Enabling the business to create stories around data via visualizations and reports using tools like Power BI sitting on top of a Big Data stack.
Building or mock-up of data models
Working with third party to provide production support
Partnering with vendors to implement projects and enhancements
Works closely with other cross functional business teams, including digital engagement, product marketing, communications and web to understand the systems and data points applicable to each group. Will advise on areas for opportunity and collaboration in ingesting and tracking data.
Minimum of four-year bachelor’s degree in – Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree.
Functional experience working with Marketing / Sales data (3+ years):
Knowledge of technologies involved
Techniques and practices for the evaluation of customer data
Ability to analyze customer activity and demographic data for predicting future customer behaviors and trends.
Experience building reports and data models within SaaS tools like Salesforce
Big Data experience (2+ years)
Performance tuning for reports and queries
Data modeling on top of a Big Data stack as well as traditional RDBMS
Hands on experience either scripting within or supporting an environment utilized by data scientists
Experience with Digital Marketing channels (google, adwords, doubleclick, DSP's etc.).
Experience utilizing data manipulation and data mining capabilities:
Support the analysis and reporting needs of the CRM, Loyalty and Marketing programs.
Ability to build data models across data sources
Ability to build visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau
Decipher and distill large amounts of data into concise, directionally-sound, understandable findings
Familiarity with R and/or Python
Familiarity of machine learning concepts:
Familiarity with predictive models and statistical methods such as clustering and segmentation techniques, regression, and propensity modeling
Salesforce reporting or other SaaS like environment
Data Lake toolset – Hadoop, Spark, Hive, etc..
Metadata management- Tools like Enterprise Data Catalog from Informatica
Informatica or other Big Data ETL tool
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate analytical data
