Requirements Definition ? from capturing customer requirements to developing a clearly documented system architecture.
Requirements Management ? From managing system-level requirements traceability to sub-system specifications to providing requirement oversight for evolving technical challenges during the design process.
Systems analysis - Analyzing and reporting on technical data together with an assessment of risk.
Systems design and development ? from defining system-level block diagrams to developing concept of operations and other system-related documentation in support of project deliverables.
System Verification and Validation ? From generating compliance matrices that are tracked during the verification/validation phases through to assisting in planning and defining the appropriate test methods/procedure for an effective qual program.
Capture and reporting of the above ? using industry standard toolsets.
New Business Development Support ? From assembling the compliance data required in formal RFP/RFQ bid submissions to championing system engineering best practices during the early planning and estimation phases.
Undergraduate Degree in Systems Engineering, Applied Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Optical Engineering, with the following:
Track record of being a strong technical contributor across a wide range of technical topics across multiple disciplines.
Excellent time management and technical data management skills.
Exercises sound judgment in new situations in the absence of specific guidelines
Well-developed oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
Seeks solutions to complex problems when challenges arise, dealing with situations proactively and persistently.
Meets the requirements of the Controlled Goods Registration Program and is eligible for a Canadian government security clearance.
Experience in Systems Engineering best-practices, across the lifecycle of a product
Strong Mechanical and/or Optical background.
Knowledge of various military and industry standards related to military applications and optical mechanical systems.
Proven understanding of Test and Evaluation approaches.
Previous experience working within a Microsoft Office environment including knowledge of Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Previous experience with IBM DOORS and VISIO software desirable.
