Job Description:
Raytheon?s Space and Airborne System?s Space Systems business unit, is addressing the increase shift in our Customer?s new ?National Defense Strategy? that emphasizes the importance of space capabilities and technology. With the acceleration of defense spending, Raytheon?s California Consolidated Manufacturing Center (CA CMC) is searching for an Operation?s Manufacturing Supervisor to lead CA CMC and Space Systems in strategic product and facility planning to meet Raytheon?s rapidly emerging growth in space production.

The selected candidate has demonstrated commercial aerospace manufacturing execution that combines the strict space requirements and commercial lean manufacturing techniques.
They will coordinate assembly and test work of over 200 hybrids and 40 space modules.

Primary duties are to support the integration and test of space hardware with emphasis on:

  • Guiding Mechanical integration
  • Coordinate Environmental testing
  • Review and understand Work Instructions
  • Use Visual Manufacturing Shop Floor System (VM)
  • Supervise and mentor a team
  • Provide day-to-day work direction for team, focus on maintaining steady workflow, productivity, and resolve operational decisions.
  • Document training and assembly process
  • Execute handling of critical hardware and program schedules
  • Manage test technicians and support resources
  • Prepare As Design As Built Configuration and reconciliation with common PDM
  • Provide current build status on a daily basis to Team and Program Office

Required Skills:

  • Ability to ensure team compliance around work instructions and other detail processes.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor a medium sized team preferably in a Union environment
  • Efficient in Microsoft Project and Excel
  • Ability to lead and manage a team
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methodology
  • Knowledge of Earn Value Management System including writing variance report
  • 5 + years in microelectronics and high reliability hardware
  • 5 + years in low volume high complexity mixed products
  • 5 + years in commercial DOD experience
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Experience:

  • 10+ years of electronics experience
  • Secret Clearance preferred

Required Education: A Bachelor?s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and a minimum or 8 years of prior relevant experience.

Desired Education: A Bachelor?s degree in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
